Integrate with Basecamp 3
Are there plans to integrate Roadmap with Basecamp 3? https://github.com/basecamp/bc3-integrations
Our company is interested in moving some of our projects to Basecamp 3, but we don't want to lose the connection to our Roadmap projects.

JIRA: Populate JIRA's Logged Time Tracking field via Roadmap plug-in
At present the Roadmap plug-in for JIRA updates the following JIRA fields for Time Tracking:
1. Estimated;
2. Remaining.However, the Logged field is not updated. This is very useful for using the JIRA dashboard for reporting. Could you use the Roadmap Log time plug-in for JIRA to populate this field?

Do not refer to team members as as "Resources"
In an effort to humanize my team, rather than objectify them, I'm going to start a crusade within my HR department to refer to employees as "employees", "colleagues" or "team members", rather than "resources". Has anyone at Roadmap considered this terminology and how it might affect the treatment of employees? I would much rather fill out my Gantt charts with Team Members than Resources. It would be an extensive one-word change, but I also think it might be the type of small change that has a huge impact on how people treat each other at work. Thanks.

Thanks for the suggestion. Our customers use Roadmap for forecasting people, places, companies and things (e.g. labs, machines). Thus explaining why we chose to use a generic term like “resources”.We are working on Roadmap 2.0 and will investigate the possibility of allowing users to use their own labels, or we distinguish the different types of resources.

Continue improving/revert back to some functions on the projects page
Before you made all the changes to the system I could easily filter my projects to see what was the oldest (past due) just by clicking on the header. Now I have to add a whole bunch of filters and I'm still not really able to show all the information I want to look at. I feel like i'm working in excel and its rather frustrating. It seemed much easier to use before you made the changes
3 votesWe plan to improve the filtering with the following: 1) filter by columns that are not displayed; 2) adjust column display order in the sidebar; and 3) apply more granular filtering to Dashboard views, including widget-level filters. The exact timing of these improvements is TBD but it’s possible work will begin in June.

Capturing Project Expenses
Projects have pass through expenses. i.e. rentals, print work, licenses, etc... There should be a tab or input to add these types of expenses to help manage the project budget. Would love to see this feature! Thanks for the great product.

Since you are capturing hours (which impact product profitability and also provide data for paychecks), it would be helpful to also let users enter expenses (which is logical since these, too, impact product profitability and paychecks).

add tagging ability to time entry and projects - such as "billable" or "non-billable" time entry distinctions. Also project level tagging for searches and reporting (for example, "Mobile" projects, etc - unlike grouping you can tag multiple tags to each project)

Recurring Availability for Resources
I'd like to see the ability to scheduled recurring events for individual resources.
For example, we have resources who are only available on Mon/Wed/Fri or Tues/Thurs, and even even though the resource is set up as part time with a certain number of hours available, those hours are spread across all five days of the work week.
It would be great to be able to specify days that they are not available, or conversely select only the days that they are available.

Changing allocation throughout a task
Currently when you assign a resource to a task, you can only set their utilisation level once (e.g. they are 100% allocated to that task). However, it would be really useful if you could change their utilisation throughout the task - e.g. 100% allocated to the task in the first week and 50% in the second week. This would enable you to work their allocation in around other tasks they need to do on specific dates.
I know that as a workaround I could add a duplicate task and change their utilisation for the days in question on that, but…

Link Milestones with Project Attributes
I have noticed that reports are only available for project attributes which are created with the drop down "selection" option. This has been a nice feature, however, completing a milestone titled "Financial" does not affect or complete the "Financial" project attribute I created. I have to manually complete these tasks on the 360 page and then also select a drop down on the projects page to have it reflected on the reports page. It would be great to have the option to link certain milestones with project attributes so they are completed together.

Make the Gantt scrolling smooth
Currently it jump scrolls to an arbitrary position.
At a minimum, please allow us to set the date on the left edge of the screen so we can see the most of the project :)2 votes -

Add the ability to move tasks between to-do lists
I would love being able to drag a to-do item from one list to another or have a dropdown box to reassign/link it to a new todo list. Currently I have to delete the task and recreeate in the new list which is very tedious. I want to have a to-do list with unassigned items and when they get assigned move them to the active project list but I can't see an easy way to do this.

Change Last Login to Last Activity
Last Login could have been weeks ago and means very little, but last activity could have high value. I'd like to know when the last time a project manager or account manager has had activity.

Top Navigation keep on top (floating)
It would be great if the top navigation bar, would stay on top when you scowl down(floating). This feature would be especially helpful in the Grantt view, since adding Milestones / Events / others can become very tedious when you have to scroll up and down just to know which month you are in.

Be able to enter a portion of a day in the Team Calendar
It would be nice to be able to set a portion of a day in the Team Calendar instead of having to use full days. Sometimes my staff might take an afternoon or morning off and we have to enter that elsewhere as a work item or miscellaneous task to account for it.
Ideally it would be nice to be able to enter the specific amount of time away for a specific day but if that's too difficult, perhaps if there was the ability to select, full, half, quarter and eighth of a day options when entering an event in…

I would like to be able to create custom email reports (using my custom views and filters) that could be scheduled to email to a select group on a regular basis.
